Welcome from the Acting Head of Valley College
A very warm welcome to Valley College.
We are a specialist College for young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities, with campuses in Rossendale and Blackpool. As Acting Head, I am incredibly proud of the community we have built together and the opportunities we create for our learners to belong, thrive and achieve their ambitions.
Everything we do is guided by our mission: Preparation for Adulthood, Citizenship and Employment (PACE). This means helping learners develop the knowledge, skills, confidence and experiences they need to live fulfilling adult lives, participate meaningfully in their communities and work towards their future aspirations.
At Valley College, every learner follows a personalised pathway built around their strengths, aspirations and individual needs. We work closely with learners, advocates, families, employers and partner organisations to create programmes that are ambitious, relevant and focused on positive adult outcomes. Whether a learner's next step is greater independence, community participation, supported living, volunteering, employment or further learning, our aim is to help them move forward with confidence and purpose.
Learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our learners develop their skills in real-life contexts through community engagement, work-related learning, enrichment activities and meaningful experiences that prepare them for adulthood. We believe that independence grows through authentic opportunities to make choices, solve problems, develop relationships and contribute to the world around us.
